Send it through a parcel courier and it goes van, depot, hub, depot, van.
Three or four sets of hands. Packed by you, stacked with everything else, handed over at the end by someone who never saw where it came from.

Is a courier job the same as a removal?
No. A courier job is one item, up to a pallet, going point to point, usually today, urgent or a long way off. One man, and it is priced by the loaded mile: £2 a mile or £40, whichever is greater. A removal is a whole house, flat or office on a booked date with two men, from £80, and it is priced as a job whatever the distance.
